Wow! I loved reading about your creativity as a kid! When my sister and I played with our Barbies, we kept their personalities pretty consistent from one "misadventure" to the next. But I totally agree with you -- I remember watching the Barbie commercials on TV where the little girls just moved their Barbies back-and-forth without making them have any conversations...and I thought, "What's the point?!"

My sister and I also had an entire "kingdom" of stuffed animals (who never interacted with the Barbies) that we'd play with, enduring similar misadventures. Down in our basement, I played solo with all my plastic figurines -- acting out spontaneous "sitcom episodes" starring them!
