I can't speak to Medium's policies on what they choose to flag or ban (although I agree that they should clarify it even further for all of us).

"There is nothing wrong with traditional, binary, gender behavior if that is what someone wants to portray" -- I agree with you, here, in theory. But only if it's truly that individual's choice. Not if society is pressuring or coercing them into doing so. It shouldn't be venerated as the default for everybody.

Two things can be true at the same time. Yes, members of our community can engage in self-destructive behavior. That doesn't mean all of us, as a community, should be collectively held culpable for their actions. That's neoliberal identity politics fused with so-called respectability politics at its worst.

I am currently celibate, as I value monogamy. I don't engage in anal-penetrative sex (I'm what they call "a side" within the gay community), so I don't have firsthand experience with using PrEP and other such products. If certain gay men are going to behave irresponsibly, I refuse to take the blame for their actions. Why should I be expected to answer for any of their misdeeds?

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you won't be renewing your Medium membership, since your commentary appears to indicate that Medium isn't the place for you, if all you want to do is read soliloquys from those who already agree with you on everything.
