Yes, Yes, YES!!! -- on all of these points!!!

One thing people tend to forget: not every single self-described intersectional feminist will agree with one another on every point or topic 100% of the time. And that's okay. If they did, it would be a cult.

I'm male, cisgender, and White -- but I'm also gay, disabled, working-class, polytheistic, Millennial, and politically-disenfranchised. And, much in the same way you described your daily existence for yourself...

In the areas where I enjoy privilege, I want members from underrepresented and underserved groups to have the same privileges as me.

In the areas where I'm disadvantaged, I simply want to be loved and respected in the same way that members of the "majority" groups (of which I fall outside) currently do.

I realize there are individuals who will never "get it" or who will refuse to support me...but I know I can't control everybody's sentiments.

I relate to what you say about the labels and categories of identity feeling exhausting. But, I try to look at it as a necessary evil. I try to check my own prejudices in order to do my best to keep them from turning into discrimination. And I actively hold everybody else to that same standard (whether they like it or not).

I also try to look at any "-ism" or form of oppression in multifaceted ways: how is it systemic (governmentally-supported) and/or social (individually-inflicted) and/or cultural (based on collective pressures of groupthink).

Phoenix -- I see you, and honor you.
