You are right about framing the solutions in a nonpartisan way, and the U.S. Farm Bill is generally the best vehicle for doing that. The problem is that most Farm Bills in recent history have been regurgitations of the most previous one, with some exceptions here and there (such as the Office or Urban Ag & Innvtv Prod in the '18 bill).

While you and I won't get everything we want to see implemented over a five-year period, the question needs to be what are the most immediate short-term priorities?

So what are the key items that you would recommend changing or including, in the next Farm Bill, that you view as being realistic while also beginning to shift the trajectory?
