You raise an excellent point. I'm going to defer to female leaders when it comes to developing empowerment programs for girls and women.
If you're referring to the concept of also having some coed groups for peer discussions and role modeling -- I'm certainly in favor of that, as well. My only point is that sometimes boys just need to talk/relate to other boys, and girls just need to talk/relate to other girls.
In the male support group I referenced (that ran from January through April), I know I wouldn't have felt nearly as comfortable expressing myself and being vulnerable if there had been women in the group -- and I'm positive other guys in our group felt the same way.
