You seem to be under the impression that I'm saying they should bring back some of these characters as recurring characters or semi-regulars. That's not what I'm saying. At all.

For example, I agree with you about developing D.J. and Geena's storyline, as spouses and as parents to Mary. But a guest appearance, on occasion, from someone with a past connection to D.J. such as George, Lisa, or Heather could only serve to **ENHANCE** D.J. and Geena's shared storyline.

It isn't an "either/or" proposition. As I suggested: if Nancy was to return, maybe she'd be in a May/December relationship with Heather -- which would tie multiple Conners into the storyline. Or, if David came back, doing an episode or two involving Barbara (if they could get Sally Kirkland back) would bring closure to that haunting chapter of David's life -- but it would also affect Becky and Darlene, with whom Barbara had major "issues."

The great thing about the "Roseanne" universe is that Lanford is a small place, and many of these characters who'd never actually appeared onscreen together could have untapped connections that become newly revealed to us. For instance, if Lonnie became estranged from Crystal and Ed...who's to say he didn't stay in touch with Chuck & Ann-Marie? Maybe Crystal's kids were closer to Chuck and Ann-Marie than the viewers were ever led to believe? It's conceivable Darlene could still be grappling with her complex grief over Molly's sudden death -- so why WOULDN'T an episode or two featuring Charlotte help Darlene reach closure?
