You've said the Democrats should find other alternatives to Harris (or Biden) for the 2024 cycle. That's fine. I agree with you that there are probably FAR superior presidential nominees than Harris or Biden.

This recommendation, however, does NOTHING to address the upcoming 2022 midterm election cycle.

If Democrats cede either chamber of Congress in 2022/2023, it won't really matter WHO they nominate for the next presidential race. They could run the most charming, likable candidate in the world...but the ramifications of a GOP-held House or Senate in 2022/2023 would almost certainly doom whoever that nominee ends up being.

"The Democrats’ best bet is to take important tasks like immigration and voting rights away from Harris and assign them to someone else. Give her the easy, softball stuff like vaccinations where she can do a minimum of harm.

Then encourage other Democrats to put themselves forward as candidates for president. There were some excellent ones on the stage at the primary debates in 2019 and 2020."
